Private Schools to Challenge Punjab Govt’s Decision of Early Summer Vacations in Court
May 18, 2026The All Pakistan Private Schools Association (APPSA) has decided to challenge the Punjab government’s decision to announce early summer vacations for schools in court.
An emergency meeting of the association was held in Islamabad’s F-8 sector, where members raised serious concerns over the decision.
Speaking after the meeting, the association’s central president, Dr Abrar Hussain, said the early closure of schools in Punjab would harm students’ education and was equal to playing with children’s future.
He warned that repeated and long school closures could further increase the number of out-of-school children in the country, creating serious problems for the education system.
Dr. Hussain urged federal and provincial governments to officially allow schools to operate in residential areas so students do not face academic loss.
He said private educational institutions would not accept any damage to children’s learning and confirmed that the association is preparing to take legal action against the decision.
